Casali Della Aiola - Vagliagli

The Chianti hills surround this charming B&B, where vineyards roll right to your door. Fifteen minutes north of Siena, the Aiola history reaches back to the 13th century, when it was a stronghold on the road to Florence. A junior suite and seven double rooms are all housed in ancient stone farm buildings. Terra-cotta floors, with whitewashed walls and beamed ceilings, combine with lovely reproduction armoires and beds to create a feeling of "la vita Toscana". Guests may savor one of the many varietals produced at the Fattoria in the common living room, and enjoy breakfast overlooking the countryside.

Borgo Argenina - Argenina

Argenina is a small, medieval village whose name comes from the boundary ("argenina") between Chianti and Berardenga. As early as 998 AD., the it was mentioned as the property of noble Ricasoli Firidolfi family. After years of neglect, the buildings were purchased by Elena Nappa, who came here after a career in styling in Milan. After countless hours of her own labor and that of her craftsmen, Argenina, with its avenue of cypresses, has now returned to its former beauty. Four double rooms and two apartments are contained in several houses, each decorated in an endearing country style. With a location only 20 minutes from Siena, excursions to San Gimignano, Cortona, Perugia, and Assisi are possible.

Borgo Pretale - Sovicille

Created within the walls of a 12th century village, the Borgo Pretale is a place of serenity and repose. A medieval watchtower stands over a mix of ancient structures that now contain 35 guest rooms. Those in the tower are furnished with antiques and designer fabrics, coordinated by a skilled decorators eye. The rooms in the cottages feature a more rustic style, while still continuing to offer all amenities and comfort. Even a two bedroom apartment is available; a welcome option for families. In addition, a restaurant serves traditional Tuscan cuisine, using local ingredients and produce. After dinner, guests may gather in the lounge and enjoy a roaring fire. During the summer months, a tennis court and swimming pool are also available.
